You can take your toxic cleaners and shove it
The other day I wrote about my New Year’s Resolution to switch to all-natural cleaners. Well, yesterday I found I was running out of everything, laundry detergent, dish liquid, brillo pads, paper towels, and toilet paper. Unfortunately, I do not know how to make t.p. and paper towels. I usually have a stockpile on hand of everything, but I have refrained from buying these things and besides I’ve been extremely busy. Also I had 4 boys running me around in circles all day, ranging from 6 to 12 years old. So in between laundry, dishes, changing batteries, cooking, cleaning, feeding, breaking up fights, and dressing and undressing to go outside I was in complete euphoria making my natural cleaners. Yeh, right. In reality I was asking myself every 10 seconds what I was frickin’ doing. I could just hop in the car, drive 5 minutes to the store, walk up and down the cleaning aisle overdosing on the fabulous new inhalants just waiting for my arrival. I am one of the few people that actually appreciate a good smelling toilet bowl cleaner. I become intoxicated with all the colors and smells. Which brings me to why I am writing this. I almost caved today. January 1st! Am I really that weak? Febreeze came out with 3 new scents, brazillian carnaval, moroccan bazaar, and hawaiian aloha. The colors, the scents, and the need to feel that I am closer to summer and not in the dead of the stinkin’ winter. How dare they pray on my seasonal mood disorder! And to make matters worst there was a $1 coupon. Well, I am fanatical about saving money. And it is on sale right now for $2.50. And anyone who cuts coupons has noticed how much less they are for in just the last week. How the hell do you expect me to buy your product if you can’t even give me a decent coupon? 20 cents off 2. Well, you can keep it. So I just about cut out the coupon. Just about said “the hell with it” when I remembered why I am doing this. It isn’t about the money. It’s about the health of myself and my kids. And that crap makes me sneeze nonstop and labors my breathing. And when you get to my age you start to notice these things. I can tell you how much toxic crap is in it just by smelling it. And aerosol? That is so 90’s. I’m sure no one will lose money if I stick with my natural cleaners. There are still plenty of people to buy them. So I will just keep on my way improving my health and saving my money.
